NovoPath is looking for a DevOps/ Deployment Engineer to own the DevOps and deployments of our award-winning Laboratory Information System (LIS) software. This role is as a hands-on expert working with the development team to ensure our cloud and on-premises products are installed, deployed, and managed reliably and timely. This position is responsible for implementing automation throughout the development and build process, creating CI/CD Pipelines in Azure/Azure DevOps, organizing, and scheduling deployments, and working with the customer success teams to make sure our client’s installations are seamless. Candidates do not have to be an expert at, but you should have experience with understanding virtual server configurations and maintenance, endpoints administration and management, network connectivity and security…typical configurations that come with a diverse customer environment. Most importantly, this position will provide the opportunity to work with a group of peers from a wide variety of backgrounds that are meaningfully improving patient outcomes. This position is available on a remote basis however preference will be given to candidates able to work at our office in Bridgewater, NJ one day per week.


  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot the NovoPath product suite and components
  • Cooperate with software development, create, and own standard deployment configurations, code, scripts, timelines, and methodologies
  • Manage Azure DevOps repositories, NuGet and build and release pipelines for our cloud product
  • Assist engineers with troubleshooting environments and interfaces at client installations
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot third-party devices, scanners, labelers, and other peripherals
  • Set up and manage deployment calendars and maintain version and compatibility matrices and licenses
  • Configure, customize, troubleshoot Microsoft SQL; Run database scripts and perform database modifications
  • Keep abreast of emerging deployment solutions and efficiencies to automate and scale our product options
  • Work with software development to oversee project-specific software design and custom engineering activities
  • Provide feedback and communicate issues, product enhancements opportunities, and field changes to the Engineering and Service teams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive, hands-on experience in one or more of the following competency areas:   Azure DevOps, systems integration, systems analysis, database programming, software project management, software design, development, and/or engineering; integrated software systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency with software/database: XML, MS SQL, Oracle
  • Conceptual knowledge of virtualization, HA, FT, and basic networking principles (VLAN, subnetting, ACLs, Firewalls, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of database administration tools such as SQL Mgmt. Studio, PL/SQL
  • Hands-on experience with scripting/scripting languages, Visual Studio, .NET framework, ASP, SQL Server, OS/Networking, Windows 7, Windows 10, RAID, Server 2016, and/or SQL Server 2016
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving approach
  • Experience in troubleshooting software installs
